About Visys

If you’re unfamiliar with Visys, this young and innovative company from Belgium has developed several groundbreaking sorting solutions, including multi-wavelength laser scanning, data fusion technology and hyperspectral-based BioPrint™ sorting.  All of the Visys platforms employ uncompromised digital lasers for color and structure detection. Each platform can have up to 5 laser sources and 6 sensors front and back for a total of 10 sources and 12 sensors. Combined with the unique parabolic shape of the Chycane™ slide infeed chute for optimal stabilization and trajectory, these sorters have the highest defect efficiency and lowest false reject of any in-air laser sorter.

 Here’s an overview of the Visys sorting platforms:

  • Primarily used for nuts and berries
  • Laser only – detects color and structure
  • Capacity:  5,000 lbs (2,250 kg) per hour


  • Primarily used for raisins, nuts and frozen vegetables
  • Laser only – detects color and structure 
  • Capacity:  10,000 lbs (4,500 kg) per hour

Python 680 and 1200

  • Primarily used for nuts and frozen vegetables
  • Laser for color and structure
  • Camera for advanced shape sorting
  • Python 680 Capacity: 5,000 lbs (2,250 kg) per hour 
  • Python 1200 Capacity: 10,000 lbs (4,500 kg) per hour 


  • Primarily used on nuts for foreign material removal
  • BioPrint sorting technology
  • Single-sided sensor
  • Capacity:  5,000 lbs (2,250 kg) per hour or 10,000 lbs (4,500 kg) per hour
